Smitten by cinema

Nandan Unni has acted in 40 films including the recent release Ente Mezhuthiri Athazhangal and the upcoming film Oru Kuttanadan blog.

Nandan Unni breathes cinema. It is this passion that keeps him going in the industry. For him, it is not the length of the role, but its significance in the story that matters the most. “My aim is to do good roles that leave a deep impression in the audience’s minds,” says the actor, whose previous movie was Ente Mezhuthiri Athazhangal. In the movie, he had only one scene, but it was noticed. “Many people including VKP sir and Lal Jose sir have appreciated my performance. It was one of my dreams to act in Anoop ettan’s (Anoop Menon) script. I had acted with him in movies like 1983 and Paavada,” says Nandan.

He will be next seen in Sethu’s Oru Kuttanadan Blog starring Mammootty. In Oru Kuttanadan Blog, Nandan plays the role of Salim. “Salim is one of the five friends of Hari (Mammootty) in the village. For them, Hari ettan is the role model. Whether it is good or bad, the friends idolise Hari,” says Nandan. “The movie captures the beauty of Kuttanad,” he adds.

Being a part of Sethu’s movie too has been Nandan’s wish. “I knew Sethu ettan since the movie Robinhood. I have been in touch with him and expressed my desire to be a part of his project. When this movie started, he gave me a chance,” says a grateful Nandan.
