Party time for Parvathy
Parvathy’s phone finally rings at 3 in the afternoon. She is on a road trip with ‘her girls’ and not present in Kerala when she was declared the winner of the state award for best actress for her roles in Ennu Ninte Moideen and Charlie. “I was on the phone with a friend who was watching the TV. I tried to watch the live streaming from my room, but it wasn’t working and I was wondering if it was going to be anti-climatic. But finally he said yes (you got the award) and I said ‘Okay then, alright!',” says Parvathy.
It is not like a movie, she says, where she holds a shampoo bottle and slips into a happy song and dance. But she’s called her mom and dad and has not stopped answering messages and calls after calls. “People are taking time out to call and wish. People from the industry and random people I don’t even know. But I wish to thank every single call and message I get, that’s the minimum I could do.”
She is excited, ‘humbled and genuinely happy’ to quote her exact words, about the fact that most of her teammates had won awards. “Seven awards for Ennu Ninte Moideen and eight for Charlie. And I won for both. It is party time for me ! ”
