Vysakh and Mammootty had earlier worked together for the hit Pokkiri Raja in 2010.
Director Vysakh, who brought out Mohanlal-starrer Pulimurugan, one of the hit movies of 2016 and the first Malayalam movie to enter the 100 crore club, will team up with Mammootty in his first directorial venture of 2017. Vysakh and Mammootty had earlier worked together for the hit Pokkiri Raja in 2010.
Revealing the news on Facebook while sharing his plans for 2017, Vysakh wrote, “Raja 2 would be my directorial venture after Pulimurugan. ‘Raja’ of Pokkiri Raja will be the lead character in Raja 2. However, the movie will not be a sequel of Pokkiri Raja; it takes only the character. The story, backdrop and narration will be different from the previous one. It will be a complete family mass entertainer from Mammukka.” The movie written by Udayakrishna is produced by Tomichan Mulakupadam.
Besides this one, Vysakh has a few other projects in the pipeline with actors Mohanlal, Dileep, Dulquer Salmaan and Jayaram. The 3D movie with Jayaram in a significant role will be produced by Gokulam Gopalan. Vysakh wishes to include actors from Malayalam, Tamil and Telugu industries in the big budget movie that is expected to release across the country. “The movie will give emphasis on VFX and special effects,” he writes.
A mass entertainer with Mohanlal, a movie with Dileep and a ‘high voltage mass entertainer’ with Dulquer are also on the anvil.
