Mohanlal Announces Biography Mukharagam On His Birthday

Malayalam superstar Mohanlal marked his birthday on May 21 with a heartfelt gift to his fans: the announcement of his official biography, Mukharagam. The veteran actor, whose illustrious career spans nearly five decades, shared the news through a special video message.

“Dear all, on this birthday of mine, I am delighted to share some wonderful news with you,” Mohanlal said. “My biography, written by Bhanu Prakash and published by Mathrubhumi Books under the title Mukharagam, is all set for release. The foreword has been penned by one of Malayalam’s most beloved writers, M.T. Vasudevan Nair.”

He further added, “This book captures various phases of my acting journey, which now spans 47 years. It is a work that many have dreamed of for a long time, and now it’s finally becoming a reality.”

Work on Mukharagam began in 2019, and the book is slated for release on Christmas Day 2025—symbolically coinciding with Mohanlal’s 47th year in cinema.

On the professional front, Mohanlal recently wrapped filming for Hridayapoorvam, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad.

While he remains an icon in Malayalam cinema, Mohanlal has also carved out a fan base among Telugu audiences. His powerful performance in Janatha Garage, particularly his intense scenes with Jr. NTR, earned him praise for matching the young star in emotional depth and screen presence. He also appeared in the Telugu drama Manamantha, which, despite critical acclaim, did not make a significant impact at the box office.
