Mohan Babu, Manchu Manoj face off before collector over property dispute

Mohan Babu seeks legal protection, while Manoj alleges mismanagement of family assets

The ongoing property dispute within the Manchu family saw veteran actor Manchu Mohan Babu and his son Manchu Manoj appear before the Ranga Reddy District Collector in Telangana. The father-son duo attended a hearing at the district-integrated office in Kongarakalan, Ibrahimpatnam, to address conflicts over family assets.

Mohan Babu had earlier sought protection under the Maintenance and Welfare of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, alleging that Manoj unlawfully entered his residence in Jalpalli village, Balapur mandal, and was demanding control over family properties. Following his petition, the Ranga Reddy District Additional Collector summoned Manoj to present his side.

During the hearing, Mohan Babu asserted, “No one has any rights over my self-acquired properties. Manoj must return my assets.” He accused his son of illegally taking over his properties and insisted on a legal resolution.

Manchu Manoj, however, denied any property dispute, stating that his concerns were about the alleged mismanagement of family-run educational institutions and trusts. He accused his father and brother, Vishnu, of sidelining him and questioned how they could finance big-budget films while claiming financial distress. Manoj maintained that his stance was not for personal gain but for the welfare of students, relatives, and family members.
