Kasaragod: After thirty years, actress Manisha Koirala and director Mani Ratnam returned to the historic Bekal Fort, the location where the song 'Uyire Uyire' from the movie 'Bombay' was filmed. Director Mani Ratnam, Manisha Koirala, and cinematographer Rajiv Menon revisited the ancient fort walls, reminiscing about some of the memories of the movie.
The film 'Bombay' was released in 1995. Even today, the song "Uyire Uyire" remains a special song for music lovers. Bekal Fort gained international fame through Rajiv Menon's stunning visuals and the emotive performances of Manisha Koirala and Arvind Swami.
The team was accompanied by Kerala’s Minister for Tourism and Public Works, PA Mohamed Riyas. The gathering was organized as part of an initiative to promote Cinema Tourism in Kerala by the Bekal Resorts Development Corporation (BRDC) and the Kerala Tourism Department to mark the 30th anniversary of BRDC.
