Mahesh Babu’s Khaleja Is My Favourite, Says Jason Sanjay
“I liked Mahesh Babu’s Khaleja. I also liked S.S. Rajamouli’s Maryada Ramanna. I do watch Telugu films,” Jason Sanjay said.

Debutant director Jason Sanjay, son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor Vijay, revealed that he has watched and enjoyed several Telugu films. While promoting his upcoming film Sigma in Hyderabad, Jason said Mahesh Babu’s Khaleja is one of his favourites.
“I liked Mahesh Babu’s Khaleja. I also liked S.S. Rajamouli’s Maryada Ramanna. I do watch Telugu films,” Jason Sanjay said.
Jason also spoke about his father Vijay’s reaction to his directorial debut. He said Vijay is eagerly waiting to watch Sigma but will stay away from its promotions.
“My father is waiting for the release of Sigma. He won’t be promoting my film. I want the promotions to be about the film and not him. I don’t want the two to overlap. He has also become Chief Minister now, so he has many responsibilities. He is waiting to see what I have done and is very excited,” Jason said.
Asked about his reaction to Vijay becoming Chief Minister, Jason kept his response personal. “I felt happy when my father became CM. It was a happy moment for everyone around him,” he said.
When asked what his father had given him for his first film, Jason pointed towards the audience and Vijay’s fan base, suggesting that the goodwill and attention generated by his father’s decades-long stardom itself was a major gift.
Jason also revealed that he was always more interested in filmmaking than acting. Unlike some star kids who choose to follow their parents into acting, he said his interest was in learning scripting and direction.
“I was always interested in scripting and direction. I was never interested in acting,” he said.
