Tamil Actor Arya Booked In ₹1.8 Crore Payment Dispute

Based on the complaint, the Jubilee Hills Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation

Tamil actor Arya has been named in a police case registered by the Jubilee Hills Police in Hyderabad following allegations of non-payment of dues related to the rental of high-end film production equipment.

According to the complaint, filed by Javed Ali, an accountant representing Hyderabad-based equipment supplier Taher Cine Tek, the company had entered into an agreement on February 25 last year with the makers of the Tamil film Ananthan Kaadu. The complaint names actor Arya, producer Vinod, and representatives of the production house, alleging that they assured the company that all rental charges would be cleared without any outstanding dues.

Based on these assurances, Taher Cine Tek supplied advanced digital cameras, lighting systems, and other filmmaking equipment for the production. The equipment was reportedly transported from Hyderabad to Kerala at the company's own expense.

The complainant alleged that although the equipment was used throughout the film's shooting schedule, a substantial portion of the agreed rental amount remains unpaid. Of the total contractual value of approximately ₹2.12 crore, more than ₹1.80 crore is allegedly still outstanding.

The complaint further states that the production team acknowledged the pending dues in writing and promised to settle the entire amount before the film's release. It was also allegedly agreed that a no-dues certificate would be issued only after full payment was made. However, the company claims the commitment was never honoured.

Taher Cine Tek also alleged that it made repeated efforts to recover the outstanding amount through letters, WhatsApp messages, and phone calls, but received no satisfactory response.

In another allegation, the company claimed that the production team obtained interim relief from a court in Kerala by suppressing key facts related to the financial dispute. It also alleged that its manager was threatened when he approached the production team seeking payment. The complaint names producer Vinod, actor Arya, and Arya's personal assistant Kishore in connection with the alleged intimidation.

Based on the complaint, the Jubilee Hills Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation. Police officials confirmed on Saturday that the matter is under investigation.

The allegations remain subject to police inquiry, and no court has made any determination on the claims. Arya and the other individuals named in the complaint have not publicly responded to the allegations at the time of publication.

Actually, Arya has done Telugu films like 'Varudu' and took on Allu Arjun and also was seen in Telugu films like 'Size Zero' and 'Saindav' besides his dubbed films like 'Nene Ambani' and 'Nene Devudni' worked well with Telugu audience.
