Actor Suriya has recently wrapped up the shoot for his upcoming film, Suriya 47, directed by Jithu Madhavan. Reports suggest that the makers are eyeing a Diwali release for the film. If it releases as planned, Suriya 47 will become Suriya's third consecutive theatrical release after Karuppu, while he also awaits the release of Vishwanath and Sons. So far, the makers have not officially announced the release date of Suriya 47.
Suriya will be seen playing the role of a police officer in the film. Nazriya Nazim stars as the female lead, while Nasleen will be seen in a prominent role. Recently, the makers shared a behind-the-scenes (BTS) video from the sets and officially confirmed that the film has completed production.
Meanwhile, Suriya is awaiting the release of Vishwanath and Sons, directed by Venky Atluri and co-starring Mamitha Baiju. The film is slated to hit theatres on August 14, 2026. It also features Radikaa Sarathkumar and Raveena Tandon in prominent roles.
