Silent Film ‘Gandhi Talks’ To Offer Unique Experience
Starring Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swamy, Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth Jadhav, the film relies on expressive acting and body language to narrate its story

At a time when cinema is increasingly defined by spectacle, scale and sound, Gandhi Talks takes a radically different path. The upcoming silent film aims to communicate its story entirely through performances, emotions and music—without a single spoken word.
Starring Vijay Sethupathi, Arvind Swamy, Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth Jadhav, the film relies on expressive acting and body language to narrate its story. The makers say the film is an attempt to reaffirm cinema as an art form driven by performance rather than dialogue.
“Stars like Vijay Sethupathi and Arvind Swamy agreeing to act in a silent film is itself a big challenge and a bold statement,” the makers said in a statement. “Their choice reflects their passion for exploring roles that move beyond routine storytelling. Aditi Rao Hydari and Siddharth Jadhav add further depth by conveying complex emotions purely through gestures and expressions.”
Music plays a crucial role in Gandhi Talks, with A.R. Rahman composing the score. Described by the makers as the emotional voice of the film, Rahman’s music functions as the narrator, guiding audiences through the silent narrative. His score is said to transform silence into a powerful emotional experience, positioning the film as a world-class, festival-ready work.
Director Kishore Belekar, speaking about the film, said, “We made Gandhi Talks with complete faith in silence. Indian cinema has explored countless stories over the decades, but we wanted to create a film that depends purely on performances and emotions. The actors embraced this idea wholeheartedly and expressed the story with great sensitivity. A.R. Rahman’s music has truly become the voice of the film.”
Gandhi Talks is scheduled to hit screens on January 30, 2026, promising audiences a unique cinematic experience that speaks volumes through silence.
