In a recent interaction, Vijay was asked whether the success of both films would encourage the team to experiment with something different.
The Jailer franchise has been a big success, and now cinematographer Vijay Karthik Kannan has revealed an interesting idea that he and director Nelson Dilipkumar have been discussing. The duo have apparently thought about releasing Jailer in an entirely black-and-white version.
In a recent interaction, Vijay was asked whether the success of both films would encourage the team to experiment with something different. He revealed that he and Nelson had discussed the possibility of presenting Jailer in monochrome.
Vijay also mentioned Spider-Noir, which gives the Spider-Man universe a black-and-white makeover. He pointed out that Nelson is a big fan of monochrome visuals, adding to the possibility of such an experiment.
A black-and-white version of Jailer could give the film a completely different feel. The action sequences, Rajinikanth's screen presence and the dramatic moments could take on a new look, offering fans a fresh way to revisit the film.
Of course, the big question is whether this idea will work with mainstream audiences. While it may appeal to film enthusiasts looking for something different, it remains to be seen how the wider audience would respond to an entire film presented in monochrome.
For now, the idea remains an interesting possibility rather than a confirmed plan. Meanwhile, the franchise continues to enjoy a strong following in the Telugu states. Both films found favour with Telugu audiences, with Jailer 2 reportedly earning a share of Rs. 51 crore in the region.
