Nadigar Sangam Chennai in Final Phase: Vishal
The actor shared an update after attending a meeting of the Nadigar Sangam office-bearers, where he met fellow actors and reviewed the progress of the association's new headquarters
Kollywood actor Vishal has said the long-awaited South Indian Artistes' Association (SIAA) building is in its final phase of construction, raising hopes that the landmark project will soon be inaugurated after years of delays.
He shared an update after attending a meeting of the Nadigar Sangam office-bearers, where he met fellow actors and reviewed the progress of the association's new headquarters.
Sharing photographs from the meeting on social media, Vishal wrote, "I met my film family at the office-bearers' meeting held at the Nadigar Sangam office. The entire team is gearing up at full speed for the final phase of work on the historic South Indian Artistes' Association (SIAA) building, which has been our long-cherished dream."
He added that every meeting with his colleagues fills him with positivity and said the project had taken years of collective effort, legal battles, continuous hard work and perseverance to overcome several obstacles.
"Yes, we are all eagerly looking forward to that proud moment. It is not far away. May God's blessings remain with us," he said.
The Nadigar Sangam building has been one of the association's most ambitious projects. The foundation stone was laid in 2017 after the Vishal-led panel won the association elections, with plans to build a modern complex featuring an auditorium, preview theatre and commercial spaces to generate revenue for the body.
However, the project has faced repeated delays due to legal disputes, funding constraints and the COVID-19 pandemic, pushing back its completion several times. Vishal, who serves as the General Secretary of the South Indian Artistes' Association, has consistently maintained that completing the building is one of the association's top priorities.
