Jana Nayagan Fails To Beat Rajinikanth’s Coolie Record
Jana Nayagan failed to collect even Rs 100 crore on its opening day at the worldwide box office.
Actor Vijay’s Jana Nayagan mania is everywhere on social media. The film, which was supposed to be released in January during Pongal, was delayed due to censor issues. Later, the movie was leaked on social media. It appears the leak has affected the film’s collections.
Although advance bookings for Vijay's farewell movie were impressive and there were reports that it would beat Vijay’s previous box office records held by Leo and The GOAT, to everyone's surprise, Jana Nayagan failed to collect even Rs 100 crore on its opening day at the worldwide box office.
Importantly, the political action entertainer also failed to beat Rajinikanth’s Coolie, which remains Kollywood's all-time number one in Day 1 opening collections. It remains to be seen how much Jana Nayagan will collect by the end of its theatrical run.
