Anandhi had worked on the project for many working days. She was deeply eager to share screen space with the Tamil cinema icon. When she discovered that her scenes were edited out of the final cut, she broke down in tears. She expressed her heartbreak on social media. She mentioned feeling unlucky, as working alongside Vijay was a long-cherished dream.
The clip quickly went viral across social media platforms.
Such instances are not new. Many scenes featuring artists are edited out from the final cut to manage run-time and/or pacing. These become public knowledge when artists speak out because they couldn't get to be seen in a big-ticket movie.
