Is it Sonakshi Sinha or Rakul Preet for Thalapathy Vijay's new film?

Mumbai: Fresh off the success of Mersal, Thalapathy Vijay will be collaborating with AR Murugadoss for the third time after giving super hits like Thuppakki and Kaththi. Though Rakul Preet (who recently was seen as the lead lady in ARM’s Spyder) is said to be the front-runner for Vijay’s heroine, close sources inform us that Sonakshi Sinha who shares a good rapport with ARM is also being considered.
Sonakshi’s earlier stint in Tamil was Lingaa where she was paired opposite Superstar Rajinikanth.

Murugadoss is also not new to Sonakshi as she has collaborated with him in two movies — Akira and Holiday (the B’town remake of Thuppakki). The director has finalised Girish Gangadharan as the cinematographer. Harris Jayaraj is likely to be retained as the composer of this emotionally-driven film. An official announcement is expected soon for Vijay 62 which will go on floors in January 2018.
