Deccan Chronicle was the first to report that Vijay Sethupathi will be playing the legendary cricketer Muttiah Muralitharan in a biopic to be directed by Sripathy Rangasamy, who had done Kanimozhi with Jai. It was first said that the Mumbai production house DAR Motion Picture will bankroll the project and now we hear Rana Daggubati's Suresh Productions has joined hands as co-producers.
The biopic is set to release in 2020 and we hear VSP has already started training for the movie and is in the process of shedding several kilos. It is said Muttiah Muralitharan himself will be personally involved in the venture and train the actor perfect his bowling and body language.
