What made Shraddha Srinath a feminist?

The actress has shared an incident in her teens which turned her into a nonbeliever and a feminist

Shraddha Srinath of Vikram Vedha and Nerkonda Paarvai fame, who is vocal about many issues, has shared an incident in her teens which turned her into a nonbeliever and a feminist.

In an Instagram post, she wrote, “I was 14. At family pooja, I got my period. I was not accompanied by my mom, so I nudged my aunt sitting next to me and worriedly informed her of it (because I was not carrying a sanitary pad). Another good-natured lady sitting close by saw me worried and overheard me and said to me, smiling reassuringly, “Parvagillachinna, devarukshamistaare/ Don’t worry child, God will forgive you” (for being part of the Pooja while menstruating). That’s the day I became a feminist and a non-believer. I was 14.(sic)”

On the career front, Shraddha plays a cop in Vishal’s techno thriller Chakra. She plays the lead in the Telugu film Krishna And His Leela, and is also acting in Maara with Madhavan.
