Thimiru Pudichavan to lock horns with Vijay Sarkar

Though I was born and brought up in Dubai, I belonged to Madurai and was really scared and shy to speak about it then.

Vijay Antony’s upcoming flick Thimiru Pudichavan in Ganesha’s direction is releasing this Deepavali and competing with Vijay’s Sarkar at the box-office. The film has Nivetha Pethuraj as Vijay Antony’s pair.

Speaking about bringing the film on Deepavali day, Antony who also bankrolls the film in his home banner, says, “To release TP on the festive occasion was a planned one. Apparently, there’s a connection between the story and Deepavali. Director Ganesha has worked really hard and it has shaped up well. Two of my earlier films did not do well at the box-office. It will help me if Thimiru….. works out.”

On his character, he says, “I play a straight forward cop (inspector) and because of this nature, he is a bit headstrong. What problems he faces because of this attitude and how he tackles them forms the crux. Nivetha essays a SI. But, there’s hardly any romance between us. Since, I am handling too many things like production, music and editing, acting becomes a bit tough. I am going to concentrate on acting and taking classes to act intimately with the heroines in romantic scenes in future films so that the ‘chemistry ‘would work out (smiles).” Ask him about directing a movie, the multitasking personality says, ‘Direction is not on the cards’.

Nivetha Pethuraj said, “I essay a bad cop in few portions. I was required to learn bullet and done few action sequences as well. It was a new experience to me. I feel proud to have acted as a policewoman. Thimiru Pudichavan is an important film in my career.”

The dusky actress admitted that she has her share of #MeToo moments. “If anyone misbehaves with any girl/woman, they should bring it out then and there. I have also undergone a #MeToo moment when I attended a party. Though I was born and brought up in Dubai, I belonged to Madurai and was really scared and shy to speak about it then. It was my mistake. Had I not been to that bash, I could have avoided the terrifying experience. Now, I am matured enough to handle things. I support the #MeToo movement.”
