After trying his hands in comedy with Thirudan Police and Ulkutthu, Caarthick Raju is all set with a hard-core horror genre titled Kannaadi. The movie, a bilingual in Tamil and Telugu, features Sundeep Kishan who has positioned himself well in Tamil with films like Maanagaram and Mayaavi and Anya Singh, a discovery of Yash Raj Films, as the lead pair.
“Kannaadi as a subject steered away from the clichés of a horror genre with gore and the redundant, deliberate scare moments and will bring you a newfangled dimension of this genre’, Caarthick tells DC. “You will not find the formulaic pattern of a haunted house, a ghost possessing someone’s body or using electronic gadgets as medium, seeking revenge, a heart-wrenching flashback that justifies the ghost act in Kannadi. The film will be based on the unique line, ‘what happens when, the individual himself or herself see their other face, which is quite unimaginable.”
Others in the cast include Anandraj, Karunakaran, Poornima Bhagyaraj, Murali Sharma and Pragathi. While Thaman composes music, PK Varma is behind the camera. V Studios and Sri Saravana Bhava Films produce the romantic horror movie.
