Prakash Raj plays Nivin's dad!
Actor Prakash Raj, whose previous project was KS Ravikumar’s Mudinja Ivana Pudi, has bagged an integral role in the Tamil remake of the Kannada film Ulidavaru Kandante directed by Gautham Ramachandran.
This yet-to-be-titled film also has Nivin Pauly and Natraj (aka Nutty) playing the lead roles. Speaking to DC, Gautham says, “I was looking for a strong character who could pull off more than one emotion. I narrowed my options down to Prakash Raj and approached him through my friend. Recently, Prakash has started cutting down projects, so I was apprehensive about whether he would take it up or not. When I narrated the story, he was impressed with the dialogues and added that he will be a part of the team.”
The film is in its last schedule, which would commence soon. “We have completed shooting major portions of the film. Fifty percent of Prakash Raj’s portions are yet to be shot. He plays a pastor, who is Nivin Pauly’s father,” he reveals.
When asked about the changes made in the script, Gautham quips, “Barring 14 scenes, we have re-written the entire script.” After Neram, Nivin Pauly has been missing in action from K’town. With this remake and a couple more projects, the actor is sure to stay in Kollywood. According to the director, Nivin is taking Tamil language lessons and dance rehearsals for the film. Gautham further revealed that there were 15 to 20 rounds of rehearsals for the actors.
