Arvind Swamy will be doing this after 20 years as he dubs for the menacing ‘Scar’ in the Tamil version of the The Lion King. Interestingly the actor had given voice for the lead ‘Simba’ in the Tamil version over 20 years ago when the animated version was released on TV for Indian audiences. The character of Scar, Simba’s nefarious uncle, is specially etched in our memories as one of the most menacing villains of all time onscreen.
On opting to give voice for Scar, the Roja star says, “It was a great learning experience dubbing for an animated film over 20 years ago when I dubbed for Simba in The Lion King. When I was approached this time around to dub for a character in the new version of The Lion King, I preferred to dub for Scar as I saw the character as the most interesting and multidimensional. It was an enriching professional experience.”
Directed by Iron Man and The Jungle Book fame director, Jon Favreau, Disney’s The Lion King is one of the most-anticipated films of recent times.
