Mr Chandramouli given U/A for revenge plot

The much anticipated film Mr. Chandramouli starring the father-son duo of Karthik and Gautham Karthik has been certified U/A by the regional censors. The film, directed by Thiru of Naan Sigappu Manithan fame, has Regina Cassandra playing the love interest of Gautham. Varalaxmi, Satish, Santhosh Pratap and veteran filmmakers Mahendran and Agathiyan essay crucial roles.

Thiru says working in Mr. Chandramouli was a happy experience right from the start. Ask producer Dhananjeyan as to why the film was given U/A rating and he says, “It’s a revenge action drama and any film in such genre will be given U/A. There’s not a single cut in the film.”

We hear that the liberal skin show of Regina in song sequences, as seen in pictures from the film which were promoted in the media, was also the reason for U/A. “I do agree that there was high glam quotient in some of the song sequences, but they were shot aesthetically by Thiru. Even the members admitted that the visuals were beautiful on screen. So, once they gave U/A, no cuts were given even in songs”, he clarifies with a smile.
