Priya set to get hitched
National Award winner Priyamani finally got engaged to her long time beau Mustufa Raj in a modest ceremony in her hometown last Friday.
Romance blossomed between the Parutthi Veeran actress and Mustufa Raj during the Celebrity Cricket League matches a few years ago. Priya was the ambassador for CCL and Mustufa was part of the event management team. The duo met while a match between Karnataka and Bengal was being played at Bengaluru. While they were casually introduced to each other, their subsequent meeting at the next match in Kerala paved the way for their relationship.
Earlier, the actress had given us a hint about some ‘personal affairs’, but she couldn’t divulge much about it. Now, she seems ecstatic in sharing the good news with us.
“I am very happy to announce that Mustufa Raj and I got engaged on May 27 in a private function at home. We wanted to keep the engagement simple and hence invited only close buddies and family members,” Priya, in a blissful mood says.
About the wedding date, she says, “We haven’t decided yet. It feels great! We have known each other for four years. The engagement was just a formality, for the elders in the family to bless us.”
She says her favourite fashion designer Mehek Navin Shetty designed their attire for the occasion. When quizzed about whether she would continue to act in films, she replied promptly. “Why not? I would definitely work in movies post-marriage.”
Her co-star in Ragada, Anushka Shetty, wished the couple on Instagram, complementing Priya’s looks as being ‘gorgeous’. Many celebs including Genelia Deshmukh, Puri Jaganadh, Chinmayi Sripaada, Vimala Raman, Lakshmi Manchu and Neelima Rani also took to their social media handles to congratulate the actress on her engagement.
On the work front, Priyamani currently has two Kannada projects, including Dana Kayonu and Kalpana 2 and a Mollywood film Silent Radio in her kitty.
