Akshay Kumar to reprise Raghava Lawrence in Bollywood's Kanchana

Akshay Kumar will be reprising Raghava Lawrence in the Bollywood remake of Kanchana, the horror-comedy film directed and produced by the latter and the second in the Muni series. Though there were rumours on a Kanchana 2 remake, Lawrence clarifies to us about the development. “Initial talks are on to remake Kanchana, the first in Muni franchisee in Bollywood and not Kanchana 2 as reported in some media. Akshay Kumar has evinced interest. I am in the process of fine-tuning the script as of now.”

The blockbuster Kanchana had Sarath Kumar in the titular character of a transgender, which won him critical acclaim. Raai Laxmi played Lawrence’s pair. Recently, Lawrence announced his next movie Kaala Bairavaa, which will go on floors once Kanchana 3- Muni 4 is wrapped up. Akshay Kumar will be making his direct Tamil debut alongside Rajinikanth in Shankar’s 2.O.
