Bharathiraja's former assistant goes independent

Director adds that his narration will have flashes of his mentor's style and there will be quite a bit of unpredictable twists and turns.

Veteran filmmaker Bharathiraja’s assistant Srijar turns independent with a film interestingly titled Edal, which is about friendship and is touted to be a thriller. While newcomer Venkat plays the male lead, Yuva who has done a few movies will be seen opposite him. On the unique title, Srijar says, “Edal means ‘mouse trap’ and it is a pure Tamil name. Venkat and Yuva play lovers who garner opposition from several quarters. After devising a clever plan, like how we trap rats at home, the hero traps his enemies, which forms the premise for the film.”
