Vaibhav Reddy’s portrayal of Marudhupandi in the recently released Chennai 600028: Second Innings won a lot of appreciation from all quarters. Now, offers have been pouring in for the actor, who looks forward to a packed 2017.
On talking about his character in Chennai 600028, Vaibhav says, “I have been getting great feedback for my character, and I am genuinely happy for the entire team. Initially, people on the sets thought that I wouldn’t be able to pull off the role. But, Venkat Prabhu had great faith in me and now our efforts have paid off.”
The Aranmanai 2 actor has now finalised two films. “I play the lead role in the Tamil remake of the Malayalam film, Adi Kapyare Kootamani. This venture is to be produced by the makers Kappal. The director of the film is yet to be confirmed. Simultaneously, I will be shooting for another film, which has the script written by ace writer VC Guhanathan. This is his 250th script and I am very proud to be part of it. It is a love thriller helmed by debutant director Vetri,” says Vaibhav.
2016 has been one of the best years for Vaibhav. “Two of my films — Hello Naan Pei Pesaren and Chennai 600028 sequel — did well at the box-office. This year has been good for me and I am looking forward to play diverse roles in my upcoming films. I have two to three projects lined up, which will be
confirmed soon,” he concludes.
