Nayanthara does it once again
Nayanthara’s penchant for women-centric films has been a known fact ever since she signed Doss Ramasamy’s Dora, Minjur Gopi’s Aramm and Chakri Toleti’s Kolayuthir Kaalam. Now, the actress is at it again, by signing a film which would be directed by newcomer Bharat Krishnamachari.
Produced by Eros International, this untitled venture is an adventure thriller in which Nayan will be seen as a Paris-based journalist. Speaking to DC, Bharat says, “Nayan’s character will go in search of her family and identity. It’s a fictional film, based on true events. About 75 per cent of the movie will be shot in foreign locales like Mongolia and across Europe. She doesn’t have a pair in the movie and we will start shooting from mid-March. There are more surprises in store in terms of cast.”
Bharat is a former assistant to Mysskin, and has handled audio post-production for several national award winning films like Aadukalam, Vaagai Sooda Vaa, and Thalaimuraigal. For a debutant director, it is a dream-come-true to work with Nayanthara and Eros International.
“She loved the script and gave it a nod in mid-2016. In fact, she was the one who suggested Eros International for bankrolling the project. She made things happen! We will be shooting in the snow and the terrains — and although Nayanthara is not used to shooting in such extreme conditions, she is willing to risk it for the script,” he claims.
Sagar Sadhwani, senior Vice President of Eros International reveals, “This will be the biggest project for us in the South. The script has an international flavour, which will take the Indian cine industry to a different level.”
Currently, the pre-production is in progress at a swift pace. Cinematographer Cheziyan and art director Sathish Kumar have been signed on for the film.
