At the audio launch of Rani directed by Bani — a former assistant to national award-winning filmmaker Samuthirakani — those who graced the occasion were heaping laurels on the film’s music composer Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja.
Dhanshika, who plays the titular role, was in awe of him — “I feel proud to be part of this film which has maestro Ilaiyaraaja sir’s music. The only reason for me to accept this film was Samuthirakani sir who suggested that the movie is apt
for me.”
Director Karu Pazhaniappan, who was also present at the launch, made a request to the composer that he should score music, in sync with today’s trends, just like his son Yuvan Shankar Raja does.
Reacting to this, director Perarasu said, “All the songs from Rani are soothing and sure to be hits. I want Raja sir to continue his way and style of composing music. Let him not make music as Yuvan does, as told by Pazhaniappan. Even if
1000 Yuvan Shankar Rajas come, they cannot replace Raja sir. There can be only one Ilaiyaraaja in the world!”
