Nikki Galrani, who is currently busy shooting for the film Kalakalappu 2 in Banaras, Kasi, speaks to us about the interesting role she plays in the film which is directed by Sundar C. The film (which is not a sequel to the first part), also stars Jiiva, Shiva, Jai, and Catherine Tresa.
“I play the role of a tahsildar officer in this film! It is a super-fun character, who travels throughout the film with both the heroes, but I won’t reveal anything else about her. You have to wait for the film,” grins Nikki.
“The experience has been amazing so far. It’s a very hilarious story. The ambience at the shooting spot is quite similar to the mood of the film. We finished a big schedule in Karaikudi, and now, we are shooting at Kasi in Banaras. This is where my story arc begins... I come as a very traditional ‘Tamil ponnu’. I make it to a point to play different roles in each of my films,” she adds.
About her other film, Kee which also has Jiiva in the lead, she reveals, “There is lot more to Kee than what you saw in the teaser. There is a rom-com segment in it as well, which you will know about once it hits the screens.”
She is also playing the lead in the film Pucca, which will hit theatres shortly. Nikki is also in talks with three other movies and says the official announcements will be out soon.
When asked how she goes about choosing her roles, she says, “I actually get a kick out of this — doing characters that not everybody would be willing to take on. I like that I’m able to push my limits and go a little overboard for the roles. That’s the reason for choosing different scripts.”
