Those who have watched Malayalam film Angamaly Diaries and the famous Jimikki Kammal would know who actor Sarath Appani is. The lanky guy who grooved to the viral song from Mohanlal’s Velipadinte Pusthakam is now poured with offers from Malayalam and Tamil industries. For his Tamil debut, he has chosen director Lingusamy’s Sandakozhi 2.
Speaking to DC, Sarath says, “Lingusamy sir watched my performance in Angamaly Diaries and approached me for the film. To have my debut film directed by Lingusamy sir and sharing screen space with Vishal sir is overwhelming. It is a small character and I hope this film will pave way for an active career in Kollywood.”
Sarath adds that he wants to be part of both Tamil and Malayalam films. “I don’t want to restrict myself to only Mollywood. After all, I grew up watching films in Tamil as well and I can speak the language fluently. I hope directors took notice of me after Jimikki Kammal went viral and offer me some good roles,” he quips.
The Velipadante Pusthakam actor has also signed yet another Tamil flick, which will have script written by Joker fame Raju Murugan. Directed by Saravanan Rajhendran, Sarath will be seen in a prominent role. “I will join the shoot of this untitled flick on November 27 in Kodaikanal,” he concludes.
