Dhanush testing waters in T'town
Though Dhanush’s films have been dubbed in Telugu and released, it is for the first time the national award winner would be exploring his market in Tollywood. He will be venturing into the Telugu market with a Tamil-Telugu bilingual.
The team announced that their forthcoming flick Maari 2, a sequel to the film of the same name will be shot in Tamil and Telugu separately. The film also marks the reunion of Dhanush and director Balaji Mohan. The project was to go on floors much earlier, but was delayed, as Dhanush got busy with a line up of acting ventures and his directorial debut Pa Paandi. Malayalam actor Tovino Thomas has been roped in as the antagonist for the second part.
The team took the audience by surprise by roping in Sai Pallavi as the heroine in this film, which is set in North Madras. The actress has been choosing varied type of roles so far and looks like Maari 2 would bring out the Madrasi in her.
In an earlier interview Balaji has said that the sequel will have a content-oriented racy script. The Anegan star played a dhoti-clad, local rowdy in Maari, the gangster flick.
