Oviya has become the darling of masses and has unprecedented following, post her stint in the reality show Bigg Boss, hosted by Kamal Haasan. Her fans, addressed by the name Oviyans or Oviya Army are chipping in, through all social media platforms defending their idol, whenever she is being attacked. Even several stars from Kollywood have declared themselves as fellow Oviyans. And a few loyal fans of the Marina actress, chose to come up with anthems and songs dedicated to her.
Recently, a song, Neenga Shut Up Pannunga, a remark by Oviya, which of late has become a famous phrase, has been recorded for director Sinish’s Balloon, which stars Jai, Anjali and Janani Iyer. The song, composed by Yuvan Shankar Raja, has Anirudh Ravichander lending his vocals. Director Sinish said, “When lyricist Arunraja Kamaraj and I were brainstorming, we came up with this idea of a romantic number. Both Anirudh and Yuvan were willing to work on it.” The promo will be released today while the single is due for release on Yuvan’s
birthday on August 31.
On the film front, it is strongly reported that several directors are keen on signing her. Director Sundar C, who was supposed to work on Sangamithra, is now planning to helm Kalakalappu 2. Ever since Shruti Haasan opted out of Sangamithra, the makers have been struggling to rope in an actress, who would be a perfect fit. Oviya, who was a part of Kalakalappu, is likely to sign the second installment as well.
Speaking to DC, her manager said, “The Kalakalappu team has initiated talks with her. Along with this film, she has received several offers. Oviya is taking her time to choose the best projects for her and will soon be signing a couple of film offers in the coming weeks.”
