Sakka Podu Podu Raja has been in the news for all the right reasons! Sethuraman who worked on ‘Lollu Sabha’ turns director with SPPR whichh has Santhanam, Vaibhavi Shandilya and Vivekh in lead roles. Actor STR is debuting as a composer and has roped in fellow composers Anirudh Ravichander, Yuvan Shankar Raja, Leon James, his parents T Rajhendherr and Usha, Unni Krishnan’s son Vasudev and classical singer Keerthana to sing the numbers.
Speaking to DC, Sethuraman says, “Santhanam’s character in the film is intelligent and he goes to any extent to help his friend’s love. Vaibhavi’s character though, loves torturing men. How she falls in love with Santa forms the story. We shot three songs in Georgia and one more song (special number) will be filmed in August first week.”
The director has high regards for STR. “He was completely jovial and he gave us multiple tunes to select from. He is extremely talented and played his on-spot compositions to us. More importantly, he gave the freedom to voice my opinion.”
VTV Ganesh is a strong pillar of support for the entire team, says the director. “He never said no to anything and brought in the best cast and crew. In fact, he was instrumental in convincing Vivekh sir to essay the comedian in SPPR.”
A song from Sakka Podu Podu Raja’s album will be released on August 14 and the makers are planning for a grand release in September.
