Letting a goat emote!

Cinematographer RV Saran, editor Praveen KL and lyricist Velmurugan are part of the technical team.

Oru Kidaiyin Karunai Manu directed by Suresh Sangaiah stars Vidharth and Raveena Ravi in lead roles. The flick will speak about sacrificing of goats seen from the goat’s perspective. Talking about the ritual, director Suresh says, “I come from a village near Rajapalayalam and when they take the goats for the sacrifice, the animal wouldn’t have thought that those would be his last minutes. I wanted to bring that on screen and to recreate the culture that is followed in such villages.”

Having worked on the script and characters for a year, the director reveals that he hasn’t taken a side in the animal sacrifice to gods. “Whenever such events are due to happen, it brings the whole village together. I haven’t spoken whether animal sacrifice is right or wrong. I have only concentrated on the oneness in the village and the goat’s mindset,” he adds, Choosing the right kind of goat for the film was of prime importance. “I wanted a white goat and wanted it to look a certain way. We didn’t train it as we wanted to keep it real. Initially, it was difficult to make the goat emote on screen,” he shares. The director and music director Raghuram have incorporated live sounds along with BGM, which will bring out a new experience.
