Gopi Nainar heaps praise on Nayanthara

The director of Aramm talks in detail about the making of the movie.

Nayanthara-starrer Aramm is finally hitting the marquee on November 10. The Dora actress plays Madhivadhani, collector of a district in TN in the film, which is directed by Gopi Nainar, who grabbed the limelight during Vijay’s Kaththi controversy. “After Nayan madam agreed to be a part of the venture, it sort of became huge,” Gopi began his conversation.

How did he convince to bring Nayan on board, we ask him. “I got an opportunity to narrate the script to her. Other heroines did not understand the perspective of my script. But, within five minutes of my narration, Nayan madam asked when are we starting the shoot? Though she has done several commercial films, she was keen to do this, which is socially relevant and has a message.”

Elaborating more about Nayan’s role, he says, “The film will explore the contemporary situation in Tamil Nadu. An incident will take place, which people could neither resist nor stop. How Madhivadhani, as a socially conscious person in a responsible post tries to help and ease out the situation, forms the crux.”
We probe him whether the film would pave way for any controversy — “I don’t think so. The Censor has certified it with U. More over, it depends on how the person views it. All said and done, the movie will create a huge impact.”

So, what made Nayan promote Aramm while she usually believes that a film should run on its own merit? A few say that this film is bankrolled by the actress herself and that this may be the reason for her attending promotions. “Audiences are there to watch entertaining films. But a movie like Aramm, which has a social messaged, should reach a wider audience. Perhaps that’s the intention behind her promoting the film,” he adds. However, Gopi clarifies that the film has been produced by J. Rajesh. Nayanthara wanted to dub herself for the movie, but due to lack of time, she could not do it. Ghibran has given three songs, which were shot as montages, he adds.
