Chandran and Anandhi, who were introduced in a grand manner by director Prabhu Solomon in Kayal, have teamed up once again for Roobai (Money), which is being bankrolled under the latter’s banner. Anbazhagan, who debuted with critically acclaimed movie Saattai, that dealt with our education system, is wielding the megaphone.
Speaking about his second flick, Anbazhagan says, “Like my earlier film, which was produced by Prabhu Solomon, this film is also made by him. When I narrated Roobai’s script to him, he made one request. ‘You have earned a good name directing Saatai, but that’s not enough. You should earn the title of a successful filmmaker. Hence, keep commercial business of the film also in mind and write the script’.”
Roobai is a journey about money, which is indispensible for everyone. Greed for money is the root cause of all problems. The story is about close buddies whose only prized possession is a lorry. From Theni, they come to Chennai for a big contract. While returning, they are lured by an idea to make a quick buck and land in major trouble. How they come out of the problem, forms the crux.
