Kalidas goes to Mollywood
Having acted in two Malayalam films as a child artist, Kalidas Jayaram signed two Tamil movies as a hero — Balaji Tharaneetharan’s Oru Pakka Kathai and Amudeshwar’s Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum. While these two films are set to hit the theatres, the actor is debuting in a Malayalam film as a hero, soon.
Talking to DC, Kalidas says, “I’ve always wanted to debut in Malayalam but I was not getting the right scripts. When Abrid Shine approached me with this film, I immediately hopped on board. This is a campus movie and will focus more on the emotional side of a student.”
When asked how it feels to go back to the industry in which he started as a child artiste, he adds, “When I was a child artiste, it was easy. I did not know anything and I had no inhibitions. However, now as a hero, the whole script rides on me. It is difficult yet I am very happy about the choices I am making right now. “
Also, Kalidas is upbeat about Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paaniyum in which he essays the lead role opposite Ashna Zaveri. The film, which talks about a father-son relationship is in its post-production phase. “Meen Kuzhambum…is a feel-good and a fun-filled family entertainer. I am eager to see the film in theatres,” he concludes.
