Elephant plays a crucial role in Mehandi Circus

The story and the dialogues have been penned by award-winning filmmaker Raju Murugan.

Elephants seem to be the latest fad in Tamil cinema, which several films featuring them. Prabhu Solomon is busy making a sequel to his hit film Kumki, which had an elephant playing the lead, and there’s also a film called Haathi Mere Saathi in the pipeline. Now, director Saravana Rajendran, who recently announced the title of his debut film — Mehandi Circus — has revealed that a circus elephant plays a pivotal role in it.

Mehandi Circus tells the story of a man from Kodaikanal, a girl who works in a circus, and their intense romance. Popular chef Rangaraj from Kovai plays the male lead, and Shwetha Tripathi of Masaan fame plays the female lead. The story and the dialogues have been penned by award-winning filmmaker Raju Murugan.
