A film against casteism

He adds, “A man needs social justice. He should be treated as a human being. When justice is denied to him, he retaliates and turns criminal.

Filmmaker Igore who gave Kalaba Kadhalan with a controversial theme is back after a hiatus with the movie VaKiBha, an acronym of Vannakili Bharathy. While Vijay Karan plays Bharathy, Manishajith will be seen as the female lead.

Speaking to DC, Igore says, “Vannakili is a film against casteism. When writer Swapan Pradhan approached me with the script, I agreed to direct it only because the film has a big message and lashes out against those who are prejudiced or discriminate on the grounds of caste.”

He adds, “A man needs social justice. He should be treated as a human being. When justice is denied to him, he retaliates and turns criminal. That’s what happens to my lead protagonist. VaKiBha is an intense romantic film where the lovers are caught in caste tangle and they resort to extreme measures.”
