Director Vijay is awaiting the release of his ambitious film, Vanamagan, which is scheduled to hit theatres on May 19. It was officially announced that the director would work on the Tamil version of the Malayalam film, Charlie next. He had also roped in actors Madhavan and Sai Pallavi to reprise Dulquer Salmaan and Parvathy’s roles respectively.
Since the Charlie remake schedule is postponed for unknown reasons, director Vijay will now work on another project with Sai Pallavi in the lead. A source in the know, tells us, “It is true that Vijay will be working on a crime-thriller titled Karu, before the Charlie remake commences. This project will be bankrolled by Raju Mahalingam of Lyca Productions. The pre-production work on the project will kickstart post the release of Vanamagan.”
According to sources, Karu will be wrapped up quickly so that the director will be able to concentrate on the Tamil remake of Charlie. This will be Sai Pallavi’s offical debut in Tamil. Rumours are rife that the Charlie remake will go on floors towards the end of the year. An official announcement on the same is awaited.
