Kamal Haasan to revive an old character in his next film?
Rumours are abuzz that actor-filmmaker Kamal Haasan is likely to revive one of his most-loved characters from yesteryear in his yet-to-be-titled trilingual (Tamil, Telugu, Hindi) project, which will be officially launched at Nadigar Sangam on Friday. A source said, “It’s true that Kamal sir will be playing one of his most popular characters, and the audience will enjoy it.”
To be directed by Rajeev Kumar, the film will feature Kamal Haasan and his daughter Shruti as father-daughter for the first time on screen. We also hear that veteran comedian Brahmanandam is on board for this film, but official confirmation is still awaited. Ramya Krishnan, Amala Akkineni and Saurabh Shukla too will be seen in important roles.
In the recent inaugural event poster of the film, the filmmakers captioned it ‘Meendum Varuvathu Yaarendru Therigiratha’ (Look, who is coming back?) A majority of the film will be shot in the US, besides some scenes in India. Maestro Ilaiyaraaja has been roped in to compose the tunes.
