Nayanthara in soup over producer's attempt to release film
The film strike by TFPC is still on and no new films have been released since March 1. But an attempt to release Vasuki, the Tamil dubbed version of Nayanthara’s Malayalam film Puthiya Niyamam in the state by its makers has landed the actress in trouble.
To quickly cash in on Nayan’s popularity, the makers have announced that Vasuki will be released on March 29 in several screens. Posters of the actress are adorning the walls of the city.
It is learnt that a few small time producers gathered in front of Nayanthara’s house in the city and protested against her film’s release in the present situation.
A source close to the actress says, “How can they hold Nayan responsible for this? She is just an actress who had worked in the film. There’s a producer for that film and a person who has bought the dubbing rights and maybe some distributor who is distributing. Go and ask them.”
