Those sexually assaulting women should be castrated, says Meera Jasmine
Kochi: “Painful” punishments like “castration” is the only way to deal with those sexually assaulting women in the country, South Indian film actor Meera Jasmine said.
Addressing a press meet here along with actor Anoop Menon and mother of a Dalit woman who was allegedly raped and murdered at nearby Perumbavoor recently, the actress said existing laws were not adequate to deal with such crimes.
“Those who are sexually attacking women should be given painful punishment and castration is the only way to deal with such persons,” she said.
“If such persons are given painful punishment, they will never dare to touch a woman in their life,” the actress said. The press conference was organised as part of promotion of her upcoming Malayalam movie on rape victims “pathu kalpanakal”.
Meanwhile, as we all know, Dileep and Kavya Madhavan got married today in ceremony at a hotel in cochin. Meera Jasmine who has worked with Dileep had no clue. She said in an interview, “Not at all. In fact, I don’t think it was a planned function. It was a quick decision and it’s a good one. She also mentioned how happy she was for them,”It’s a good news, right? I can’t be more happy for them. Dileep and Kavya are like a family for me.”
