Accredited filmmaker Pa Ranjith heaped praises on Ottrai Panai Maram - a film set against the backdrop of the armed conflict for a separate state for Tamils in Sri Lanka - when he released its trailer recently. The film screened in 37 International Film Festivals and won 12 awards.
Directed by Pudhiyavan Rasaiah, OPM talks about the plight of people in refugee camps between 2009 and 2012. The film produced by Thanigaivel of RSS Pictures is all set for theatrical release in India.
Will it face any hitch from the Censor Board? “No, not at all! The politics the film speaks in neither against India nor Sri Lanka. So, I don't anticipate any snag in getting censor approval. It has good content and audiences and critics would definitely appreciate,” says the producer who has earlier distributed Nettru Indru, Iravum Pagalum Varum and Pokkiri Mannan. Navayuga, Pudhiyavan Rasaiah, Ajathika Pudhiyavan Perumal Kasi, Jegan are part of the cast.
