Manju Warrier to debut in K'town
Top yesteryear Malayalam actress Manju Warrier who quit films after her marriage to actor Dileep, made a comeback with a critically-acclaimed and commercially successful film, How Old Are You (which was remade in Tamil as 36 Vayadhinile starring Jyothika).
Now buzz is that the pretty lady, who is legally separated from her husband and is busy with movies in Malayalam — is now making a grand entry into Tamil cinema! Arvind Swamy, who bounced back with Thani Oruvan, has been roped in to act opposite her.
Many directors in the past have tried to bring Manju to K’town. But, their attemps were unsuccessful. Any guesses as to who has managed to bring the national award winner in K’Town?
Close sources inform us that it is none other than director Ramana who gave a huge fillip to actor Vijay’s career with his Thirumalai. Later, he did films like Sullaan with Dhanush, and Aadhi with Vijay again which ended up being average grossers.
It was learnt that Ramana had been suffering from throat cancer and hence was in hibernation for a long period. Now, with continued treatment and practice, he has got his voice back partially. Sources tell us that it was Ramana’s script which fascinated Manju to give her nod. Tentatively titled Vannam, the music is by Ramesh Vinayagam of Ramanujan fame. Watch this space for more!
