When casting was done on shooting locations

Vanmuraipagudhi is a film directed by Tha Na Ka, which stars new actors, who were chosen from the locations where the film was shot — Madurai, Aandipatti and Theni. Tha Na Ka says, “It is about three boys who are short-tempered and take to violence at the drop of a hat. I wanted fresh faces to essay all the roles to capture the real essence of the theme. I chose Manikandan, Manoharan and Raja. The heroine Rafia Jaffer is also from a village near Aandipatti. I also hand-picked people for other characters and gave them training.”
