It appears the trend of humorists turning hero has caught up with ace Soori as well after he has been a regular in most big actors’ films. What comes as a surprise is that a filmmaker like Vetrimaaran, known for rooted themes and raw filmmaking style, has chosen Soori for his next. Vetrimaaran's last film was the Dhanush starrer and gangster saga Vada Chennai. He is also about to wrap Asuran, yet another film with Dhanush, which marks the debut of ace M’town powerhouse performer Manju Warrier.
Close sources reveal that the national award winner is in talks with Soori, who hitherto was refusing to play the lead protagonist. Elred Kumar who made memorable films like Ko and Vinnai Thaandi Varvaaya is said to be bankrolling the movie along with several others.
