MNM should be identified by its deeds: Kamal Haasan
The lyrics of the politically-charged anthem, Idhu Nammavar Padai', have been written by ace lyricist Snehan of Bigg Boss fame.

Actor Kamal Haasan released the anthem of his recently-launched political party Makkal Needhi Maiam (MNM), at a grand event held in the city. Speaking at the occasion Haasan, around whose neck fans and well-wishers placed a mammoth rose garland, requested people to abstain from presenting him with garlands and shawls.
“We should avoid ponnaadais (shawls) and garlands in the future. It will be a sign of our goal of bringing about a change in the society. Also, on my way to the venue, I saw banners for the event, and I instructed the authorities to remove them at once, as they would pose a hindrance to commuters. Later I came to know that the proper permissions were taken for the sticking of posters and banners. Still, MNM should not be identified by posters, but by its deeds,” he said.
Taking a dig at Tamil Nadu's political scenario, the 63-year-old actor-turned-politician said, “Tamil Nadu politics has always been tainted, going back over 50 years. It is not a recent phenomenon, and that’s one of the main reasons why I find myself in my current political pathway. MNM strives to sort out this mess.”
The lyrics of the politically-charged anthem, ‘Idhu Nammavar Padai’, have been written by ace lyricist Snehan of Bigg Boss fame and a highly-placed member of the MNM team.
Heaping praise on Snehan, Kamal said, “With his strong lyrics, Snehan had fittingly defined his feelings about the way thing are in this state”. The actor said that he had developed a bond with the lyricist during the first season of the reality show Bigg Boss.
“These inspirational songs are meant for people; I want to hear from them. It is their anger that inspires me,” he concluded.
