Digital streaming is now becoming popular with film artistes as well. Breaking the myth that only out-of-work actors would migrate to television and web, actors Nandha, Eden Kuriakose, Devipriya and Sanjana Singh, who are still busy in films, have been brought on board for the first ever web series in Tamil titled Maya Thirai, directed by Kaushik.
While Ekta Kapoor is behind the initiative, veteran Kutti Padmini is producing it. Speaking to DC, Nandha says, “This is not television. This is a web series that is an alternative platform for cinema. It’s an all-new experience for me. It’s shot like a feature film without compromising on quality and budget.”
On his role he said, “It is a very challenging role which has two shades to it — of which one has negative traits. We have a lot of creative freedom as well.” Nandha is presently acting in two movies including Suriya’s Thaana Serndha Koottam.
