Anjana Raj is the latest heroine from Mollywood who is making her foray into Tamil cinema with a powerful role in the movie Sol.
According to its director Paavannan, who also happens to play the protagonist, the film is not the routine affair seen in K’town. “It has an unusual theme and I chose Anjana for her acting prowess,” he says.
Paavannan, a former assistant to V Shekar, has also attempted something new. In one of the songs Aanavum Inge Gaanavum Inge, all 247 letters of the Tamil language have been incorporated!
Explaining the nightmarish experience the unit faced while shooting in the forests of Gudalur, he recounts, “We were shooting in Ooty and Gudalur areas when we heard that a young girl was killed by a tiger. Around the same time, our heroine Anjana went missing. We got terribly scared and searched all over. We got in touch with Anjana’s parents in Kerala; they went panicky as she hadn’t gone there. We returned to the forest area and the next morning we saw her, fainted, near a small rock. We gave her first aid and it took few days for her to come out of the shock.”
